Cookie Notice

What this covers

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage does a similar job with a different mechanism — the browser keeps a small named value for the site until it is cleared. This notice covers both, plus anything else that reads or writes to your device on plotex.us.

It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal information generally.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to work or to respect a choice you made. They cannot be turned off from the banner, because turning them off would mean forgetting your own preference.

• Your cookie choice. When you accept or decline, we write one entry to your browser local storage under the key px-us-cookie-choice. It holds the word accept or decline and nothing else — no identifier, nothing about you. It exists so we stop asking.
• Your theme choice. Switching between the light and dark theme writes the key px-us-theme to local storage so the site looks the same on your next visit. It holds light or dark and nothing else.
• Security and delivery. Cloudflare serves this site and may set __cf_bm, a bot-management cookie that expires after about 30 minutes, and cf_clearance if you are ever shown a security challenge. They exist to route traffic and block abuse, not to track you across sites, and we cannot read them as analytics.

Analytics — only after you accept

If you press Accept, we load Google Analytics 4 (property G-7QQYYLQH98). Nothing loads before that. If you decline, or close the notice without answering, the Google script is never requested and no Google cookie is ever set — we do not load the tag in a "consent denied" mode, because that still contacts Google on every page.

• What it measures: which pages and sample maps are opened, how long a page is read, which site or search referred you, the general region derived from your IP address, and your browser and device type.
• Who receives it: Google, as our analytics provider. Its cookies are _ga, which lasts about two years, and _ga_<container>, which stores the session. Google Signals and ads personalization are turned off on this property.
• What it does not do: it does not build an advertising profile of you, it is not used for retargeting, and it is not combined with your form submissions to watch an individual person browse.
• Why we run it at all: so we can tell which pages and calculators are worth keeping, and which ones nobody reads.
• How to be sure: decline in the notice, or block the domain googletagmanager.com in your browser. Either way the page works exactly the same.

Advertising cookies

There are none. This site sets no third-party advertising cookies, ad-network tags or retargeting pixels at present.

Google Analytics is an analytics tag, not an advertising one, and it is named in full in the section above. There is no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing tag and no LinkedIn Insight tag on this site.

If we ever add one, we will update this page and the notice first, and the tag will not load unless you accept it. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information for what that would mean under California law.

What we do not do

• We do not sell any information collected by cookies.
• We do not use device fingerprinting on this site.
• We do not use session-recording or mouse-heatmap tools that replay your visit.
• We do not track you across other websites, and we set nothing that would let anyone else do so.

How to control them

• The banner. Accept or Decline when it appears. You can reopen it and change your choice at any time from the link on this page or in the footer.
• Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we honor it automatically as an opt-out, and analytics stay off without you touching the banner.
• Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage, either for all sites or for this one. Look under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking everything here simply means you get the banner again on your next visit.
• Email. If you would rather we handle it, write to [email protected] and we will record your opt-out against the records we hold.

Declining leaves the site fully usable

Nothing on this site is gated behind accepting cookies. Every page, every sample community map, the lot tables, the calculators and the contact forms work exactly the same either way.

If you decline, the only difference is that we do not learn which pages you read.

Changes to this notice

If we add, remove or change anything that reads or writes to your device, we update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.

September 17, 2026 — first published version. Named Google Analytics 4 and its cookies, listed the two local-storage keys by name, and listed the Cloudflare security cookies.
